Authorities are investigating the deaths of two people whose bodies were discovered at a residence in the town of Kirkwood following a massive fire.

Firefighters were dispatched to the home on Old State Road shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday. The stage is located a short distance northeast of the town of Binghamton.
According to New York State Police, the structure was completely submerged when soldiers arrived.
Firefighters from ten volunteer departments battled the raging blaze.
A state police press release did not provide the names of those whose bodies were recovered. He said the cause of the fire was under investigation, but offered no information on whether the deaths were the result of the fire or other circumstances.
