The two Russian warships arrived in Azerbaijan on an unofficial friendly visit on September 18, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported.

The Navy Command of the Azerbaijani Naval Forces will receive the crews of the warships Astrakhan and Anatoly Gujvin from the Caspian Flotilla of the Russian Navy and discuss military cooperation between the navies of the two countries, the report added.

As part of the program, the crews of the ships will have an excursion to the city of Baku to get acquainted with cultural and historical monuments, as well as a friendly game of volleyball.

The visit will last until September 20.

In a separate report on September 18, the ministry said that Azerbaijani and Russian military sailors, who are on a friendly visit, met in Baku to discuss their relations.

At a working meeting, the Commander of the Russian Caspian Flotilla Detachment Vladimir Zaytsev and the Commander of the Azerbaijani Naval Forces Subhan Bakirov discussed friendly relations and other matters of mutual interest.
