Russian Navy submarine hits enemy warships with cruise missiles in Black Sea exercises



SEBASTOPOL, October 20. / TASS /. The crew of the Black Sea Fleet submarine Veliky Novgorod launched strikes with Kalibr-PL cruise missiles against a group of fictitious enemy warships, the fleet’s press office reported on Wednesday.

“During the South Military District Troops Force-to-Force Multi-Service Tactical Exercise, submariners launched an electronic missile strike as they were submerged against enemy warships simulated by anti-warfare tactical groups. -submarine and missile fleet, ”the press office said in a statement.

The submarine crew also practiced operations within the confines of the naval combat training range to track down and eliminate the surface fighters of the fictitious enemy, perform rapid dives at various depths, exercise control under -seaman by surfacing and taking damage control measures, the press office said.

The naval maneuvers are taking place as part of a final inspection of the troops of the Southern Military District for the training year 2021.

Overall, the exercises brought together around 8,000 people and up to 350 items of armament and military equipment from the air force, air force and air defense forces and other units and formations, as well as the forces of the Black Sea Fleet and the Caspian Flotilla.
