Royal Navy warships HMS Queen Elizabeth, HMS Defender and HMS Diamond return to Portsmouth – recap


Today was a great day for Royal Navy enthusiasts as not one, but four military warships returned to Hampshire.

HMS Defender, HMS Diamond, HMS Kent and HMS Queen Elizabeth all arrived in Portsmouth on Thursday 9 December.

HMS Qeen Elizabeth leads the UK Carrier Strike Group (CSG) on its first deployment since leaving Portsmouth on May 22.

The £ 3.2bn Royal Navy flagship has returned home with its crew in time for Christmas.

HMS Defender and HMS Diamond were the first to arrive in town and families have been reunited with loved ones for the first time in months

HMS Queen Elizabeth entered Portsmouth around 3:30 p.m. in front of the crowds lining Portsmouth harbor.
