NASAMS: National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System

The National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System, better known as NASAMS™, is a highly adaptable mid-range air defense solution. The NASAMS consists of the Sentinel Radar, the Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile and the KONGSBERG Fire Distribution Center. In October 2021, Raytheon Missiles and Defense unveiled a new medium range air defense and missile defense radar for NASAMS called GhostEye™ MR.

NASAMS provides air defenders with a tailored, state-of-the-art defense system that can maximize their ability to identify, engage and destroy current and evolving enemy aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles and emerging cruise missile threats.

Homeland Defense

NASAMS is owned by 12 nations and has been integrated into the United States National Capital Region Air Defense System since 2005. In addition to the United States, Norway, Finland, Spain, the Netherlands, Oman, Lithuania, Indonesia, Australia, Qatar, Hungary and one undisclosed country have chosen to depend on NASAMS for homeland defense and critical asset defense.

Continuously improved technology

In partnership with KONGSBERG Defense & Aerospace AS, we are continuously integrating new capabilities into NASAMS.

Built on a modular, distributed and open hardware and software architecture, NASAMS is positioned to embrace new technologies, capabilities and features. As the NASAMS user community grows, continuous upgrades will provide the most technologically advanced and combat-ready system in the world.
