Massive command and staff exercises began on October 13 on the practice fields of the Southern Military District. The maneuvers will also involve units from the military bases of the Southern Military District stationed in Abkhazia, Armenia and South Ossetia, as well as Black Sea Fleet forces. and the Caspian Flotilla which will practice missions in the Black and Caspian seas.

The exercises take place as part of a general scenario and as part of a final inspection of the district troops for the 2021 training year under the direction of the Commander of the Southern Military District, Army General Alexander Dvornikov, the statement said.
